For those of us as Mom Entrepreneurs or Mama CEOs as I tend to refer ourselves as, we are often the WORST at finding the right equation between having time for ourselves, the business and our kids. I mean, really! The word "mom" is part of our business identity even!
We try to "balance" it all, try to add this self-improvement program, subtract this tv show, add a calendar to manage our schedules and take away as many unnecessary distractions as possible. But let's be real: has anyone of us ever found true balance managing these roles?

My Recent Lesson In Not Being Perfect... (Or, The One of Many Lessons In Moving Past Mistakes)
Have you ever done something to a "T" and thought everything was in place, and come to find out "Oops! Something just went way wrong!"
My dad had me cracking up today as he sent me a very "formal" text: "Proclamation: Today, September 21, 2009 is the day my father was born and if still alive he'd be 93 years old. Please pray for our Family Patriarch." It made me smile because this type of formal text was my dad's style.
Next text: "Correction: His birthday is actually tomorrow."
I called my father right away and left him a message thanking him for being him - and for putting a smile on my face this rainy Houston morning. He called me back and said, "Sorry! Yeah, I guess we make mistakes sometimes!"
Wow, that was powerful for me to hear! I look up to my father and respect him, quirks and all. But it taught me that even though we look up to someone, we have to understand that they too can make mistakes. They're not perfect.
Some of you may have gotten a few emails from me yesterday that may have confused you. After connecting with my email service, I realized I had been the one to make a mistake and somehow set my community to receive my email service company's blog updates. I've since fixed it, and learned that I need to be aware of how I set up RSS feeds in the future. :)
